Mark Sturm, Destin L.M.T.

Mark Sturm, LMT

Mark worked most of his professional life as a successful carpenter and furniture builder. Throughout his career---and even in his early teens---he constantly struggled with chronic pain. Through studying and applying the principles of Trigger Point Therapy and other massage techniques, he is no longer a victim of the many aches and pains that he has known all his life. As he began to work and apply the same techniques on friends and family members, they encouraged him to obtain his license and practice professionally. He is devoted to helping you by unlocking and treating whatever patterns are causing your pain and showing you how to treat problem areas yourself. Mark completed his massage therapy training at the top of his class at Soothing Arts here in Destin. In college, he majored in psychology and philosophy and has made it his life’s work to study human nature, metaphysics, spirituality, and the correlation between mind, body, and spirit. Mark is extremely grateful to be living free from chronic pain and see’s it as his privilege to help others enjoy the same freedom.

Dr. Payne Asks some important questions of interest to Destin residents - Chiropractor Destin Dr. Payne Asks...

Where do most Destin residents get their first vertebral subluxation?
Being born in a hospital is a common source of vertebral subluxation. Trauma from forceps delivery has been replaced with drugs, vacuum extraction, Cesarean section and births that are "scheduled" to fit the workweek routines of Ob-Gyns. That's why we recommend a chiropractic checkup for every Destin newborn.
Are chiropractors just concerned with the spine?
Our interest in the spine is because it covers the major communications conduit between your brain and your body. As a Destin chiropractor my job is to locate areas (usually along the spine) that interfere with proper nerve communications to and from your brain. Chiropractic adjustments help restore nervous system integrity. In this way, chiropractic care can affect the function of your entire body.
